The Future is Feminist

Image
Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.  The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic could reverse the limited progress that has been made on gender equality and women’s rights.  The coronavirus outbreak exacerbates existing inequalities for women and girls across every sphere – from health and the economy, to security and social protection.      The empowerment and autonomy of  women and the improvement of their political,  social, economic and health status is a highly  important end in itself. In addition, it is essential  for the achievement of sustainable  development. The full participation and  partnership of both women and men is required  in productive and reproductive life, including  shared responsibilities for the care and nurturing  of children and maintenance of the household.  In all parts of th...

Place Before the Last Destination

Image
With the new normal, I encountered so much difficulties in dealing with the new normal in learning. Under the pressure of Covid-19, it's not easy to make self-learning. As the days passed, the lesson or topic become harder. In spite of that, I spot this lesson in third grading so interesting to work on.      There are so many knowledge I gained about Community-Based Project and HTML throughout this third grading. At first, I thought this would be hard since i'm not familiar with the lesson, but sooner after working into it, I find it attractive and interesting. All in all, I struggled so many problems by dealing with this topic but at the same time I'm enjoying it. Third Quarter was one of the hardest part throughout this journey, but to think that this is already close to the final one, it gives me relief. I've learned a lot of lessons and I promised I will treasure those knowledge I have gained.       One last step ...

Vaccine Development Against COVID-19

Image
The pandemic has been one of the greatest health crises in recorded history.  Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent infectious diseases. Vaccination protects the vaccinated persons and those around them who are vulnerable to the diseases,  reducing the risk of diseases spreading  among family members, school mates or colleagues, friends, neighbours and other people in the community.      There are many theories surrounding Covid-19 vaccination. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) and expert health authorities around the world are urging people to get vaccinated as the best solution to end the pandemic. The sooner people are immunized, the faster it will be possible not only to slow the spread of the disease, but also to limit its impact on the economy.      According to the WHO, vaccination is a simple, safe and effective way to protect against harmful diseases before coming into contact with them...

Araw ng Kagitingan: Remembering the brave in the Fall of Bataan

Image
It is not a celebration to commemorate Araw ng Kagitingan if not to remember the courage of the Filipinos who fought and gave their lives for the people even though the country's defense at the Corregidor in Bataan "collapsed" on April 9, 1942.  This happened during the second world war and Japan wanted to occupy America's allies, including the Philippines.  To prevent Japanese soldiers from entering Manila immediately, the country set up a strong defense in Corregidor, accompanied by Filipino and American soldiers. This historic day marks the greatness of Filipino veterans and American allies who fought against the Japanese invasion in World War II. Thousands of lives were lost during this dark chapter in our history in defending the country’s freedom and sovereignty.  The “Fall of Bataan” serves as a constant symbol of the Filipinos’ bravery and patriotism. As we face a global health crisis, we are reminded to remain cooperative, brave, and resilient as we, together...

The Journey of Lent: A Season of Grace

Image
Lent is the annual period of Christian observance that precedes Easter. The dates of Lent are defined by the date of Easter, which is a moveable feast, meaning that it falls on a different date each year. Lent starts on Ash Wednesday and its observance (although not its liturgical period, as Sundays are not fast days and are therefore not counted) lasts for 40 days, mirroring the 40 days that Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness before starting his ministry. It can also be seen to mirror the 40 hours that Jesus spent in the tomb prior to his resurrection. This Lenten period evolved as part of the historic Christian calendar and is typically observed by Catholics and some mainline Christian churches that take the liturgical calendar. Although its information has changed throughout these centuries and throughout other civilizations, this fundamental idea remains the same: To move our hearts to God's processing grace through worship, confession, fasting, and almsgiving as we anticipa...
